_ 3 : Playtime ; for kids

Create engaging, entertaining and useful experiences for :

– kids with severe epilepsy, epilepsy, ADD and other conditions.

– kids who don’t speak with words.

The BCI component will potentially help them increase their ability to focus and pay attention. As well, we want to see if daily mental exercises (in the form of playful games) can be a catalyst for additional brain development/ neuro plasticity.

In the cases of kids with seizures, we want to see if daily mental exercises (in the form of playful games) can bring them additional benefit by potentially reducing brain inflammation.

For kids who do not speak with words, we would research if various media experiences, with and without BCI, could create new communication methods, or potentially catalyze these kids to begin speaking with words.

Later on in the development cycle, we will look at creating affordable EEG monitoring solutions for kids, so parents can use reliable and affordable equipment at home to have a more consistent and ongoing understanding of their child’s brain activity. This would meant to be used in addition to EEG monitoring done in a doctor’s office of hospital setting.
